Sales Order Scope for Project Users
Technicians see the orders behind the jobs they can open — and only those
Odoo 19 granted read access on Sales Orders to every Project user, where Odoo 18 gave it only to Project managers. Because no record rule in core targets the Project user group, that access is unscoped: a technician who holds no Sales group can read every Sales Order in the company, with prices.
This module scopes it to match the intent Odoo already expresses in its own views, where the Sales Order Item is rendered read-only and non-openable for non-salespeople. A Project user sees the orders behind the tasks they are already allowed to open, which keeps the Field Service worksheet billing summary working on every job they can reach, and nothing else.
The scope is task existence rather than task assignment, on purpose. A technician can open any task in a project that is not follower-only, so scoping on assignment would leave the Sales Order unreadable on jobs the interface still puts in front of them — including unclaimed dispatch jobs. Orders with no project task behind them stay hidden, which on the Wagos database is 93% of the order book.
Project managers and anyone holding a Sales group are unaffected.
